... is not a question we're going to answer. In fact, it's none of our business if you have syphilis! How dare we even suggest it?

We're not suggesting it! We're using it to introduce German Jewish bacteriologist and hygienist August von Wassermann, who developed the eponymous Wassermann Test back in 1906. It's no longer in use today, but for decades, it was used to answer that very important question that opened this profile.

Now, Wassermann developed the test with the help of fellow Jews Julius Citron and Albert Neisser, but somehow it was only he who got his name on it.

All things considering, perhaps Citron and Neisser didn't mind?
