Born in a small Mississippi Delta town, B.B. King picked cotton and sang gospel before discovering the blues. He moved to Memphis, Tennessee, and became a disc jockey, earning the moniker 'Beale Street Blues Boy,' later shortened to B.B.

King wasn't Jewish by any stretch of the imagination, but his music transcended religious and cultural boundaries. He toured relentlessly, playing 200-300 shows a year well into his 80s, bringing the blues to every corner of the globe.

His guitar, affectionately named 'Lucille,' was almost as famous as he was. A true musical legend, King's soaring guitar solos and passionate vocals are instantly recognizable and have left an indelible mark on music history.
