B.K.S. Iyengar, a name that rolls off the tongue like a particularly challenging Sanskrit chant, was undeniably a big deal in the world of yoga. He didn't just teach downward dog; he practically codified the whole damn kennel, developing a system so precise it makes a Swiss watch look like a child's crayon drawing. His contributions to physical and spiritual well-being are, shall we say, rather globally significant.

Born in a small Indian village, Iyengar overcame numerous childhood illnesses, turning a frail body into an instrument of unparalleled flexibility and strength. He didn't exactly have a bar mitzvah, nor did he spend his youth perfecting his challah braiding. His spiritual journey involved ancient Indian traditions, not ancient Israelite ones.

While his dedication to spreading yoga and its myriad benefits across the globe is certainly kvel-worthy – one could argue he single-handedly improved the posture of millions – his connection to the tribe is, unfortunately, about as tenuous as a yogic headstand performed without any prior training. He was a pioneer, a master, a guru... just not our guru, spiritually speaking.

So, while his work has brought immense nachas to those seeking physical and mental enlightenment, his I and O scores remain firmly in the 'not even close' category. The man could bend himself into a pretzel, but he wasn't exactly making them for Hanukkah.
