Banksy

Banksy. The anonymous street artist. Elusive. Provocative. And... Jewish? Honestly, probably not. There's never been a whisper, a rumor, or even a poorly Photoshopped image of him at a bar mitzvah.

His origins are a closely guarded secret, perhaps even from himself at this point. We do know he's from Bristol, England, which, while having a Jewish community, isn't exactly a hotbed of Jewish art school dropouts turned global graffiti phenomenon.

So, while we can't kvel over his Jewishness, we can still appreciate the sheer chutzpah of his career. From stenciled rats to sarcastically shredding his own art at auction, Banksy has certainly achieved a level of notoriety that many artists, Jewish or not, can only dream of. Just don't ask him to lead a Seder.
