Barack Obama
Barack Obama, despite persistent online rumors and the fervent hopes of some, is not, nor has he ever been, Jewish. His father was Kenyan, his mother from Kansas, and neither lineage, no matter how deeply researched by conspiracy theorists, has ever revealed a hidden menorah.
His upbringing was largely secular, later identifying as a Christian. Throughout his political career, he maintained close ties with the Jewish community, both in the US and abroad, often speaking eloquently on issues of importance to Jewish people. He even appointed a few Members of the Tribe to prominent positions, showing good taste in advisors.
While his policies on Israel were often a subject of intense debate, his personal connections and understanding of Jewish history and culture were undeniable. He consistently championed religious freedom and inclusivity, proving that you don't have to be Jewish to appreciate a good bagel and lox (unconfirmed, but we like to imagine).
So, while Barack Obama might not be celebrating Passover, he certainly earned some kvell points for his historic presidency and his steady hand on the tiller of a nation that occasionally felt like it was capsizing. Not bad for a guy who didn't even have a bar mitzvah.
