Back in 2010, in the profile of Dr. Katz, we lamented the lack of Jewish families on television. A decade and a half have passed, and let's just say that the landscape has changed.

From the sitcom banality of "The Goldbergs" to the period piece The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" to a whole show about shiskappeeal, "Nobody Wants This", we have now come back full circle to another Jewish animated family to join the aforementioned, long-forgotten Katzes. And what a Jewish family it is!

"Long Story Short" was created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, whose claim to fame is "Bojack Horseman", about an anthropomorphic goyishe horse. The new animation centers around a very, very Jewish family: the father is voiced by Paul Reiser (profiled), the mother by Lisa Edelstein (profiled), the children by Max Greenfield (profiled), Abbi Jacobson (profiled), and Ben Feldman (whew!).

Feldman, who we remember as Don Draper's Jewish copywriter on "Mad Men" and a very bad lawyer on "Silicon Valley" (and you might remember from sitcom banality called "Superstore") plays the oldest son, Avi. We will not spoil the show, but the first season ends with Avi having a discussion with his daughter about Halakha and who exactly is "allowed" to be Jewish.

Let's just say that some of the words echo what has been said on this very website!
