Benazir Bhutto, born into a prominent political family, shattered glass ceilings with a vigor rarely seen outside of religious texts. As the first female prime minister of a Muslim-majority nation, she proved that, yes, even in Pakistan, a woman could lead – right up until the point where she couldn't. Twice.

Her political career was a whirlwind of power, exile, and assassination attempts, culminating in a successful one in 2007. One might say she lived a life less ordinary, which, for a politician, is saying something. She certainly wasn't just sitting around knitting doilies.

While her governance was, shall we say, "complex" (rife with accusations of corruption, as is tradition in many political dynasties), her sheer chutzpah in navigating the tumultuous waters of Pakistani politics earns a nod. Her enduring legacy is less about perfect policy and more about the audacious act of being there at all.
