Chadwick Boseman was an American actor, known to most for his powerful portrayal of King T'Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also garnered critical acclaim for his biographical roles as Jackie Robinson in '42', James Brown in 'Get on Up', and Thurgood Marshall in 'Marshall'. Clearly, the man had a knack for playing real-life heroes and fictional royalty.

Boseman was born and raised in extra-kosher South Carolina (we're kidding, of course, about the kosher part... mostly). He graduated from Howard University and then attended the British American Drama Academy at Oxford, which sounds incredibly fancy and completely devoid of pastrami on rye. Apparently, he was too busy honing his craft to learn Yiddish.

His untimely death at the age of 43 from colon cancer shocked the world and left a gaping hole in the hearts of fans and colleagues alike. He continued to work through his illness, a testament to his dedication and resilience. We're pretty sure that level of stoicism is not, in itself, a Jewish trait, but it's certainly admirable.

While Boseman did portray a superhero who was, let's face it, pretty super, and exhibited a strength of character that many would find inspiring, there's no indication whatsoever of any actual Jewish connection. So, despite his heroic turns, he remains firmly in the 'not a Jew' camp. Our kvell-o-meter, however, still gives him a solid showing for his talent and impact.
