E. H. Sothern

Edward Hugh Sothern, son of famed actor Edward Askew Sothern, was born into a theatrical dynasty, ensuring he was almost certainly never forced to consider a career in medicine or law. He graced the American stage for decades, earning particular acclaim for his Hamlet and Romeo, proving that even without a rabbinical background, one could still command a stage.

Sothern’s lineage is as straightforwardly English as a cup of lukewarm tea and a stale scone. There are no whispered rumors of Sephardic ancestors, no sudden discoveries of a lost tribal connection.
