Gloria Anzaldúa, born in the Rio Grande Valley, spent her career deconstructing borders of all kinds – geographical, psychological, spiritual, and especially theoretical. Her seminal work, "Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza," remains a cornerstone of Chicana, queer, and feminist studies, proving that sometimes the most profound insights come from inhabiting the margins.

While Anzaldúa was certainly a spiritual seeker, exploring Mesoamerican spiritual traditions, Nahuatl culture, and various forms of mysticism, there's no evidence that Judaism ever entered her vast intellectual and spiritual borderlands. Her focus was firmly rooted in her Indigenous and Chicana heritage, a wellspring from which she drew immense creative and critical power.

Her contributions to critical thought were immense, reshaping how we understand identity, language, and power. For her ability to articulate the complexities of living in multiple worlds, she earns a respectable K score, even if her spiritual journey never took a detour through the synagogue. She was, in essence, creating her own sacred texts.
