Gordon Ramsay
Gordon Ramsay, the Scottish-born chef, restaurateur, and star of countless culinary reality shows, has made a career out of yelling at aspiring cooks and occasionally, actually cooking. His demeanor on screen suggests a man perpetually on the verge of a full-blown aneurysm, which for some reason, audiences find endlessly entertaining. Perhaps it's the schadenfreude of watching someone else get verbally flayed, or maybe it’s the hope that one day, he'll finally achieve inner peace by perfectly poaching an egg.
Despite the frequent inquiries from those hoping to add some culinary "kvell" to the Jewish community, Ramsay's background is decidedly not Semitic. Born in Johnstone, Scotland, and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, his ancestry appears to be a rather straightforward mix of Scottish, English, and vaguely European.
While he’s certainly cooked a lamb or two, and likely yelled about challah at some point (purely for dramatic effect, we assume), there’s nothing in his lineage or personal identification that would suggest he belongs on the "Jew or Not Jew" roster. He’s just a really good, really angry, chef.
