H.E.R.

H.E.R. is an acronym for 'Having Everything Revealed,' which is mildly ironic considering her early career was marked by a deliberate shroud of mystery, keeping her identity under wraps. This, of course, only made people more curious, which is marketing genius if you ask us, or just a clever way to avoid awkward family reunions.

Born Gabriella Wilson, our subject is a multi-instrumentalist who began her musical journey at a tender age, appearing on national television and generally being far more accomplished than most of us were in our youth. She signed with RCA Records at 14, proving that some people are just built different, or perhaps have exceptionally pushy stage parents.

While her musical genius is undeniable, and she's collected enough Grammys to probably fill a small trophy case, there's no indication that H.E.R. has any connection to the Tribe. Her heritage is Filipino and African American, so unless there's a highly secretive branch of the Lost Tribes we don't know about, we're going with the obvious.

So, while we kvell at her incredible talent and ability to make award show acceptance speeches that are actually coherent, H.E.R. remains firmly in the 'Not a Jew' category, despite our secret hopes that her initials might one day stand for 'Highly Esteemed Rabbi.'
