Halle Berry

Halle Berry: a name that conjures images of Bond girls, Storm, and perhaps, for some, a fleeting thought of "Jew or Not Jew" potential. We can definitively say that, as far as Jewish identity or origin goes, the cupboard is bare. Her background is a mix of African American and Caucasian, with no reported ties to the Tribe.

Yet, the question persists, perhaps fueled by a collective wish from a certain demographic. While she may not be lighting Shabbat candles, she has, in her own way, brought a certain nachas to the world, particularly through her compelling performances. So, while she's not Jewish, we can still appreciate the artistry.

But let's be clear: the closest Halle Berry has come to kvelling is probably when she collected her Oscar. And even then, it's more of a general Hollywood kvell than a specifically Jewish one. So, to answer the burning question: no, she's not. Not even a little.

Still, if she ever decides to explore a new spiritual path, we're sure there would be plenty of volunteers to guide her. For now, we'll just enjoy her work on screen and leave the gefilte fish for others.
