The Isle of Man, or Mann to its friends, is an island nation. It's a place. A geographic entity. It has a rich history of Celtic and Norse influences, a unique parliamentary system, and a rather impressive number of tailless cats. What it does not have, however, is a bar mitzvah date.

Despite its long and storied existence, the Isle of Man has never, to our knowledge, donned a tallit, observed Yom Kippur, or complained about the portion sizes at a kiddush lunch. Its primary religious affiliations tend to lean more towards established Christian denominations, and its legal system, while fascinating, does not appear to incorporate halakha.

Therefore, we can confidently state that the Isle of Man, while a delightful place to visit and a perfectly respectable Crown dependency, is not, in fact, a Jew. Nor has it ever displayed any inclinations towards becoming one, which is entirely its prerogative, of course. We've certainly never seen it arguing over a challah recipe.
