"Mystery Science Theater 3000" truly was a groundbreaking, genre-defining show, but those of us writing this profile could never stomach bad science fiction, even when narrated by two robots. You know what we could stomach? Bad sports.

"Cheap Seats" was ESPN's version of MST3K, with robots replaced by the Sklar Brothers, Jason (glasses) and Randy (no glasses). The twin landsmen (the show was peppered with Jewy references) watched bad sports in the early 2000s on the long-forgotten (except by us!) ESPN Classic channel.

From cliff diving in Mexico to horses running on ice in Switzerland (it goes as poorly as you might guess), to bull riding, dog shows, competitive eating, and, of course, the spelling bee, the Sklar Brothers yucked it up. A number of comedic actors appeared in (often tedious) skits, from H. Jon Benjamin to Michael Ian Black to even Paul Rudd. No, it wasn't revolutionary, but it was somewhat funny. (At the time; an early episode had jokes about Mapquest and Freddy Adu.)

Most of the sports featured on "Cheap Seats" took place decades before the Sklars picked them apart. Pretty much what we're doing with this profile!
