Jean and Liz Sagal

We've been watching "Sons of Anarchy" and noticed the strange number of Sagals in the credits. Katey Sagal is obvious, of course, as Peggy Bundy dropped her red wig and starred as the family matriarch. (She even mentioned in an early episode that her family has Jewish ancestry, which we can only applaud.) But the other Sagals?

It turns out that Katey comes from a rather active acting family. Her father, Boris, was a television director, who had five children. Katey is the oldest, but there was also brother Joey (who has acted steadily since the 1980s), brother David (not an actor himself, but his wife is, including a role on "Sons"), and the subject of this profile, twins Jean and Liz.

You probably don't remember them from starring in their own short-lived sitcom, "Double Trouble", in 1984. Oh, the shenanigans these twins must have gotten into! (But you might remember them as the Doublemint Twins from those omnipresent ads?) The two have long retired from acting, but Jean has followed in dad's footsteps in directing TV shows, and Liz's many credits include years as a writer on "Sons". (We will forgive some plot holes and gross mistakes in the small Russian storyline.)

But wait! There is more! Katey's son, Jackson White, is also an actor, and the siblings' uncle, Boris' brother Daniel Sagal, was one as well. In the Soviet Union!

Uncle Dan wasn't available to consult on the "Sons" Russian storyline, natch.
