Born in Greenville, Mississippi, Jim Henson was the creative genius behind "The Muppets," "Sesame Street," and "Fraggle Rock." His pioneering work in puppetry transcended mere entertainment, often blending education with humor and fostering a sense of wonder in generations of viewers. He even invented a frog who mastered the banjo, which, let's be honest, is a feat in itself.

Henson's origins trace back through various Christian denominations, predominantly Methodism. There's no evidence to suggest any Jewish ancestry or identity whatsoever. He grew up in a household where imagination was encouraged, which, while lovely, doesn't exactly translate to synagogue attendance or a penchant for lox.

However, Henson's impact on culture is undeniable. He received numerous awards, including multiple Emmys and a Grammy, and his creations continue to be beloved globally. His ability to craft characters with such universal appeal and emotional depth, from Kermit the Frog to Miss Piggy, certainly brings a tremendous amount of "nachas" to humanity, even if not specifically to the Tribe. If only he’d created a Yiddish-speaking puppet, perhaps things would be different.
