Kristin Chenoweth, a performer of considerable talent, has graced stages and screens for decades, belting out tunes and delivering lines with equal aplomb. Her impressive vocal range and bubbly persona have endeared her to many, particularly those who appreciate a good Broadway showtune. She's won an Emmy and a Tony, which, for a performer, is pretty much hitting the jackpot.

However, for those of us keeping score on the tribe, Chenoweth presents a rather clear-cut case. Born and raised in an openly Christian home, her faith is a prominent part of her public identity. She's spoken often about her religious beliefs, even incorporating them into her performances at times, leaving little room for ambiguity.

While her performances are certainly kvell-worthy in a general sense — particularly if you're a fan of high-pitched vocals and dramatic flair — there's simply no Jewish connection to be found here. She's a celebrated actress and singer who hails from Oklahoma, and that's about the size of it. We can appreciate her artistry without having to claim her as one of our own.

So, despite the often-confused assumption that anyone with a strong theatrical background or a knack for belting out a showstopper must possess at least a drop of the chosen people's blood, Chenoweth is, unequivocally, not a Jew. She's just a really talented Oklahoman who happens to be a Christian.
