Born into one of the most infamous families of the Italian Renaissance, Lucrezia Borgia certainly had a flair for the dramatic. Her father was Pope Alexander VI, making her a cardinal's daughter who became a pope's daughter, which is, shall we say, not exactly a common lineage in the Torah.

Her family's origins trace back to Spain, but any hint of a Jewish connection seems to have been conveniently, or inconveniently, lost in the sands of time and the machinations of papal politics. Given the era and her station, any secret Jewish heritage would have been less a kvell and more a one-way ticket to the Inquisition.

Lucrezia herself was married multiple times, often for political gain, cementing alliances and strengthening the Borgia name. While she may have been painted as a femme fatale by some, her life was largely dictated by the ambitions of her male relatives. Not exactly prime material for a Bat Mitzvah circuit, though her resilience is somewhat admirable.

Ultimately, Lucrezia Borgia was a product of her time and powerful family, definitively Catholic in her upbringing and public life, with absolutely no known ties to the Tribe. Her legacy is one of power, scandal, and Renaissance artistry, not matzo ball soup.
