Mao Zedong

Born in Shaoshan, Hunan, Mao Zedong rose to power as the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, founding the People's Republic of China in 1949. His vision for a new China, while perhaps well-intentioned in its earliest days, ultimately led to policies like the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, which resulted in the deaths of tens of millions.

While his regime's actions certainly had a "transformative" effect on China, they hardly qualify as kvelworthy achievements. The sheer scale of human suffering under his leadership ensures a K-score of zero, unless one considers "mass starvation and purges" to be a hidden form of nachas, which we decidedly do not.

Despite the clear and present lack of any Jewish identity or origin, Mao's place in history is undeniable. He reshaped a nation and influenced global politics for decades, leaving a legacy that is, shall we say, complex. But complex does not equate to "Jew" on our scale.
