Martin Couney

Martin A. Couney might not have been a real doctor. He claimed that he got a medical license in Europe (he was born with the name Cohen in what was then Germany and what is now Poland), but considering that he immigrated to the US at the age of 19, that seems doubtful. That being said, doctor or not, Couney is considered a pioneer of neonatological technology, demonstrating capabilities of raising premature newborn in an incubator.
