Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Martina Navratilova defected to the United States in 1975 to pursue her tennis career free from political interference. Her journey to becoming a global icon was marked by incredible talent and an unwavering drive, but not, as far as extensive historical records indicate, by any connection to Jewish ancestry or identity.

Navratilova’s professional career is nothing short of legendary. She won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, 31 Grand Slam women's doubles titles, and 10 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, totaling an astounding 59 major championships. Her rivalry with Chris Evert defined an era, pushing both athletes to new heights and captivating millions of fans worldwide.

Beyond her on-court achievements, Navratilova has been a prominent advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, animal welfare, and various social causes, using her platform to champion progressive values. While her activism and athletic prowess certainly make her kvell-worthy in a general sense, these accomplishments do not, alas, stem from any reported Jewish background.

Therefore, despite her undeniable impact on sports and society, Navratilova remains firmly in the "not a Jew" category, leaving the kvelling to those whose origins align with our specific interests. We wish her well, from a distance, ethnically speaking.
