Mordecai Anielewicz

Born in Wyszków, Poland, Mordecai Anielewicz was a dedicated Zionist and socialist, deeply embedded in the Jewish youth movement, Ha-Shomer Ha-Tzair. Before the horrors of the Holocaust fully unfurled, he was actively organizing Jewish self-defense units and preparing for what he knew would be an inevitable struggle. His commitment to his people and their right to resist annihilation was absolute.
