Rami Malek
Rami Malek, an actor who achieved widespread recognition for his uncanny portrayal of Freddie Mercury, has no discernible Jewish background. Despite his distinctive looks and uncommon name, neither his Coptic Egyptian heritage nor his acting resume suggests any connection to the Chosen People. We checked, just in case he was a secret agent for the Mossad, but sadly, no evidence.
Malek’s heritage is firmly rooted in Egypt, with his parents having emigrated to the United States before his birth. His Coptic Orthodox Christian upbringing has been a consistent aspect of his public persona, leaving little room for any clandestine trips to synagogue.
So, while he might be able to rock a stage like nobody’s business, he won’t be rocking a chai necklace anytime soon. Another one bites the dust on the "Is He Jewish?" scorecard.
