Riz Ahmed, born in London to Pakistani parents, shot to prominence with his compelling performances across film and television. While he's garnered critical acclaim and an Oscar, he’s never quite managed to land a role as a yeshiva student or a cantor, which, frankly, is a missed opportunity for method acting.

Ahmed’s Muslim faith is an important part of his identity, and he has spoken openly about representation and Islamophobia in Hollywood. One might even say he’s kvell-worthy for his cultural impact, though perhaps not in the traditional, gefilte fish-and-a-schmooze kind of way.

He has, however, dabbled in the world of hip-hop, performing as "Riz MC." While his rhymes often touch on themes of identity and social justice, there’s no record of him dropping a sick beat about the Maccabees or the burning bush. A shame, really; the world needs more prophetic rap.
