Ronan Day-Lewis
After starring in "Phantom Thread" in 2017, Daniel Day-Lewis retired from acting. This is not to be confused with his semi-retirement from two decades earlier, when he turned to his first passion... woodworking. (True story.) This time, he was done.
... Until 2025, that is, when perhaps the greatest modern thespian unretired. Why? Well, to star in "Anemone"... a movie helmed by one Ronan Day-Lewis. Anything for the children, right?!
The reviews have been mixed, with DDL's performance obviously lauded. (Has he ever given a bad one?) But it's pretty clear that this is an obvious nepo baby situation... there is no way a first-time director would get Day-Lewis to star in his movie if that wasn't his name as well. Heck, it got the son his own profile on this website!
... And not just because of the Day-Lewis connection. Ronan's mother is Rebecca Miller, so his grandfather is the one and only Arthur Miller! (No, his grandmother is not Marilyn Monroe.) So if you want to do the math, Ronan's father is half, his mother is half, so he is half as well.
A rare three generations of JONJ profiles! Thanks, nepotism!
