Sergey Brin’s journey from Moscow to Mountain View is less a tale of rags to riches and more one of intellectual prowess meeting opportune timing. After meeting Larry Page at Stanford, the duo cooked up an algorithm that became the backbone of Google. This little search engine went on to become, well, Google. It's hard to argue with the kvell-worthiness of founding one of the world's most influential companies, even if it does occasionally suggest you look up "what did I just eat?" at 3 AM.
