Sorrell Booke
We have never seen an episode of "The Dukes of Hazzard", but a few elements from that old show have seeped into the zeitgeist:
A card topped by a giant Confederate flag (It was a different time? It was not.) Really short shorts worn by one Daisy Duke Boss Hogg, the baddy with a white suit, giant white hat, and ever-present cigar
Look at that guy! (Cigar not pictured.) Doesn't he look like he just stepped off a plantation? (Actual job: police commissioner.) His full name, just so to make things clear, is Jefferson Davis Hogg. (He is the bad guy, and the Duke brothers are the ones with the Confederate flag? Let's just say that's how things are in the South, and move on.)
By now, you know where this is headed. Despite being named after a pig and looking straight out of Antebellum, the actor who played Hogg, Sorrell Booke, was actually Jewish. (Despite having a name that sounded like a vegetable.) Apparently he got his start in show business by doing impersonations, specifically of Adolf Hitler.
Good thing those never entered the zeitgeist.
