Spike Lee burst onto the scene in the mid-1980s, bringing a fresh, often provocative voice to American cinema. His films are known for their unapologetic critiques of society, and his distinctive visual style has made him one of the most recognizable directors of his generation.

While his contributions to film are undeniable, especially in bringing diverse stories to the forefront, his connection to the tribe is, shall we say, tangential at best. His narratives often revolve around the African-American experience, leaving little room for a latke at the family reunion.

He's certainly not Jewish by birth or practice, despite his character Mookie in "Do the Right Thing" having a name that might, at a stretch, sound like a distant cousin to "Moishe." But alas, Mookie is as Jewish as a ham sandwich.

So, while Spike Lee has given us some cinematic gems and challenged societal norms, he won't be leading a seder any time soon. His "Jew or Not Jew" score firmly places him in the "Not a Jew" category, with a kvell score for his impressive filmography.
