Stephen King, the master of literary horror, has penned over 60 novels, many of which have been adapted into blockbuster films and television series, solidifying his place as a cultural icon. His prolific output and ability to tap into our deepest fears have earned him a devoted following and a reputation as a modern-day Edgar Allan Poe, albeit one with significantly more dental floss.

While King’s narratives often explore themes of good versus evil, faith, and the human condition, there’s no indication that these explorations stem from a Jewish perspective. His characters tend to grapple with decidedly New England WASPy anxieties, often involving small towns, menacing pets, and very, very bad dreams.

His chilling tales, from the telekinetic prom queen of "Carrie" to the terrifying clown of "It," have become pop culture touchstones. However, despite his undisputed literary reign and his knack for psychological torment, King remains firmly rooted in his gentile heritage, leaving no room for a secret gefilte fish recipe or a hidden menorah in Derry, Maine.

So, while we might kvell over his ability to consistently scare the living daylights out of us, and his impressive literary achievements, his Jew Score remains, like a forgotten clown balloon, decidedly deflated.
