Temple Grandin, born Mary Temple Grandin, is a name synonymous with animal welfare and autism advocacy. Her groundbreaking work in designing livestock handling facilities has significantly reduced animal stress in the meat industry, a feat that would make many a PETA member kvell, if they weren't so busy protesting.

Diagnosed with autism at a young age, Grandin’s ability to "think in pictures" allowed her to empathize with animal perceptions in a way few others could. This unique insight, arguably a superpower in the world of cattle chutes and abattoirs, has not only improved animal lives but also transformed public understanding of autism.

While her last name might hint at a grander (or at least more Jewish) lineage, Temple Grandin herself is not Jewish by any stretch of the imagination. Her contributions, however, resonate universally, proving that one doesn't need a B'nai Mitzvah to effect profound change. Though, frankly, if she were Jewish, her innovations would undoubtedly be an immense source of kvell for the tribe.
