Tenzin Gyatso

The current Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is, by all accounts, a remarkably kind and thoughtful individual. He's traveled the world, met with countless leaders, and advocated for non-violence, earning a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts. Unfortunately for our purposes, his spiritual journey led him to the peaks of the Himalayas, not the depths of the Torah.

Born Lhamo Thondup in a small village, he was identified as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama at the tender age of two. This rather unique job description doesn't exactly scream
