V. I. Lenin
Lenin, the revolutionary firebrand who turned Russia upside down, certainly had an impact. Whether that impact was "kvell-worthy" depends entirely on your feelings about totalitarianism, state-sponsored atheism, and bread lines. Our verdict? Not so much on the nachas front.
While his paternal grandfather was of Jewish origin, Lenin himself was raised Russian Orthodox and showed absolutely zero inclination towards Jewish identity. In fact, he was quite the opposite, famously condemning Zionism and religion in general as tools of oppression. So, while he might have had a microscopic drop of Jewish blood, he definitely wasn't kvelling over it.
His lasting legacy includes the foundation of a state that would later engage in widespread persecution of Jews (among many others). So, if we're talking about bringing pride to the tribe, Lenin is probably closer to bringing a collective sigh of relief that he chose other ideologies to champion. Not exactly a shining example for a Rosh Hashanah dinner conversation.
