Viola Davis
Viola Davis. Not Jewish. We've checked. She's just... exceptionally talented.
Born in South Carolina, Davis has graced both stage and screen with her powerful performances. From her Oscar-winning role in Fences to her Emmy-winning turn in How to Get Away with Murder, she consistently delivers work that makes audiences sit up and take notice. Her trophy cabinet is practically overflowing, and frankly, we're a little jealous.
She's one of those rare talents who can make even the most mundane dialogue sound like an impassioned monologue. And while there's no discernible Jewish connection, her ability to make audiences kvell, albeit sans the naches, is undeniable.
So, no, not Jewish. But if there were a category for 'Universal Acclaim' or 'Commanding Presence,' she'd be off the charts. We'll just have to settle for admiring her from afar, and perhaps wishing she'd consider a role as a formidable, wise Jewish matriarch. Just a thought.
