Virgil, born in the sleepy village of Andes near Mantua, was Rome's most famous poet. He penned the Aeneid, an epic poem commissioned by Emperor Augustus himself, presumably to give Rome some much-needed mythological street cred. It's a good thing Virgil was such a talented writer, otherwise, Rome might have been stuck with "Romulus and Remus: The She-Wolf Years" as their origin story.

While Virgil's work heavily influenced Western literature and even managed to guide Dante through the afterlife, his Jewish bona fides are, shall we say, nonexistent. Born before the common era, in what is now Italy, his family tree was likely as Roman as it gets, probably filled with toga-wearing, olive-oil-pressing, polytheistic citizens.

So, no. There is no hidden scroll revealing Virgil as a long-lost member of the Tribe. No secret Bar Mitzvah, no clandestine consumption of gefilte fish. His greatest contribution to anything vaguely Abrahamic was probably inspiring a few Christian poets down the line. A nice thought, but hardly enough to move the needle on his Jew Score.
