Will Wright

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Will Wright, despite sounding like he was conjured from a Puritan naming contest, is known for his god-like ability to simulate worlds. Before crafting digital empires and suburban dramas, he tinkered with model airplanes and robots, which, arguably, prepared him for creating the most intricate virtual dollhouses in history. Though, as far as we know, his personal life doesn't involve him shrinking down to manage tiny humans.

His creations, SimCity and The Sims, have collectively sold hundreds of millions of copies, proving that humanity's deepest desires include building convoluted traffic systems and then setting a pool ladder-less sim adrift in their own backyard. This level of creative output certainly earns him some kvell-worthiness, even if his simulated worlds occasionally lead to digital mayhem and existential crises for his virtual residents.

While his work has undeniably shaped the landscape of interactive entertainment, there's no indication that Wright, or any of his digital avatars, has ever celebrated a Shabbat dinner or pondered the deeper meaning of matzah ball soup. His background appears entirely devoid of any Jewish lineage, despite a surname that might, to the untrained ear, sound suspiciously well-organized.
