Yoko Ono, a name synonymous with avant-garde art and experimental music, rose to international prominence through her relationship with John Lennon. Before Beatlemania, Ono was already a significant figure in the Fluxus art movement, known for her conceptual art and performance pieces, often challenging traditional artistic boundaries.

Her marriage to John Lennon in 1969 cemented her place in pop culture history. Together, they used their platform for peace activism, most famously with their "Bed-ins for Peace." This era saw her vilified by some for allegedly "breaking up the Beatles," a claim that ignores the complex internal dynamics of the band.

While her musical contributions have often been met with mixed critical reception, her influence on experimental music and performance art is undeniable. She continues to advocate for peace and has maintained a robust artistic practice, ensuring her legacy extends beyond her famous husband.

So, while she may have championed peace, and famously collaborated with a figure who once quipped about being "more popular than Jesus," Yoko Ono's path to fame did not, alas, involve a detour through the Torah or a bat mitzvah. Her contributions to art and peace are noteworthy, even if they don't quite register on the Kvelling scale for us.
