Mirai Nagasu, born in California to Japanese immigrant parents, soared onto the international skating scene with a blend of athletic prowess and artistry. While her heritage is distinctly Japanese, ensuring a robust "Not a Jew" verdict, her accomplishments on the ice are universally admirable, much like, well, non-Jewish accomplishments.

Her crowning achievement came at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang when she flawlessly executed a triple axel in the team event. This feat, previously achieved by only a handful of women worldwide, cemented her place in figure skating history and no doubt brought a certain kind of pride to her supporters, even if it wasn't strictly kvell.

Nagasu has since transitioned to coaching, presumably teaching a new generation of skaters how to defy gravity, or at least how to land a triple axel without having to consult ancient texts or rabbinical decrees. She continues to inspire, without, we must insist, leaning on any Jewish advantages.
