Tony Hawk, a name synonymous with skateboarding, has carved out a legendary career by repeatedly defying gravity and popularizing a sport once relegated to rebellious youth. He's arguably done more for skateboarding than anyone else, turning it into a mainstream phenomenon and a multi-million-dollar industry. This, of course, raises the question: could he have done it with a nice Jewish mother kvelling from the sidelines?

Hawk's origins are firmly rooted in California, not the shtetl. His family tree, as far as public records indicate, boasts no discernible branches leading back to Abraham. He's been openly secular in his beliefs, focusing more on perfecting his 900-degree spin than on synagogue attendance.

While he's undoubtedly a cultural icon and a successful businessman, his 'kvell-worthiness' for this particular publication is somewhat limited. Unless he suddenly announces a newfound appreciation for challah or performs a kickflip over the Western Wall, his K-score will remain respectable but not groundbreaking. Still, you have to admire a man who built an empire on four wheels and a plank of wood.
