Ty Cobb

Ty Cobb, born Tyrus Raymond Cobb, was a true southern gentleman, albeit one who'd slide into second base with his spikes high. Hailing from Narrows, Georgia, his ancestry was a decidedly un-Chosen mix of English, Scottish, and Irish Protestant stock. There's no indication that the man who sharpened his cleats before games ever sharpened a kiddush cup, or really had any connection to Jewish identity whatsoever. He was, by all accounts, a rough-and-tumble Methodist with a penchant for brawling and a legendary hatred for, well, almost everyone.
