Mike Tyson, a name synonymous with boxing, power, and ear-biting, has had a life as tumultuous as his professional career. While he converted to Islam during his incarceration in the 1990s and has spoken about his faith, he was never, to our knowledge, confused with a member of the Tribe aside from popular culture jokes related to his promoter.

His association with Don King, the famously frizzy-haired boxing promoter, led to numerous comedic misunderstandings. Many a casual observer, upon seeing Tyson and King together, might have assumed a certain tribal affiliation for the boxer due to King's... well, everything.

Despite the frequent (and often hilarious) mischaracterizations, Tyson's connection to Judaism begins and ends with the fact that he once employed a man who, if you squinted just right, looked like he could host a Passover Seder. We'll give him a point for kvell-worthiness, though, as he was, at one point, the youngest heavyweight champion in history. That's some serious nachas, even if it’s not our nachas.
